Spotify app approved for iPhone
Apple has approved the Spotify iPhone application, allowing users to stream music to their handsets.
The company submitted the application to Apple’s iTunes App Store for its approval in July.
The application will be free, but will require the user to have a premium Spotify subscription, which costs £10.
The Swedish music streaming service is looked on as a rival to Apple’s iTunes store because of its comprehensive, free library of millions of songs.

Latest trend: Announcing iPhone apps before they’re approved
Now that it’s a known fact that Apple rejects something in the neighborhood of 88,000 iPhone apps a year, companies are getting wise and publicizing their applications before Apple has a chance to finish reviewing them.
RealNetworks has submitted an app for its subscription music service Rhapsody to Apple for approval. The application will let subscribers access Rhapsody’s 8 million song database for streaming over EDGE/3G/Wi-Fi. Though it hasn’t passed Apple’s review yet, Real is already publicizing the app.

SlingPlayer Mobile for iPhone vies for streaming over 3G
SlingPlayer Mobile is an application for mobile devices that lets Slingbox users stream content from their television to their phone regardless of their location. Sling Media created apps for Windows Mobile, BlackBerry, Symbian, PalmOS, and most recently, iPhone OS. The app for iPhone and iPod Touch was released in May, costs $30, and works with Slingbox Solo, Pro, and Pro-HD set-top boxes.

‘GeoHot’ gets a shower, cleans up nice, reveals new iPhone 3G S jailbreak
Either puberty has been very kind to the author of the new ‘Purple Ra1n’ jailbreak tool, or George Hotz may also have some adequate Photoshop skills.
In a comically blatant display of bravado this morning, George Hotz — who gained fame last year as the first to post an unlocking utility for the new Apple iPhone — has unveiled a new utility that he claims enables iPhone 3G S users to download, install, and utilize the applications of their choice, outside of Apple’s and AT&T’s control.

What Apple will not be delivering on Friday with its iPhone 3G S
It’s going to be a rainy night on the East Coast for iPhone users awaiting their 3G S upgrades.

iPhone 3.0! iPhone 3G S! iPhone ZOMG!
Apple and AT&T are disjointedly wheeling out the updates to the iPhone’s software and hardware.
